What is an Electrostatic Precipitator?

An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) or electrostatic air cleaner is a particulate collection device that removes particles from a flowing gas (such as air) using an induced electrostatic charge to trap and isolate airborne particles.

Electrostatic precipitators are highly efficient filtration devices that easily remove fine particulate matter; such as dust and smoke from the air stream, without impeding the flow of air through the device.

How does King Series ESP work?

The fan blower first draws in contaminated air through a washable pre-filter, which traps larger particles. Smaller particles as small as 0.01 micron passes through a strong electrical field where the particles receive an electrical charge. The charged particles then pass into a collector plate section made up of a series of collecting plates equally spaced 7mm apart. Each alternate plate is charged with the same polarity as the particles, which repel, while the interleaving plates are grounded, which attract and collect the contaminants.
