What is (03) Ozone?

Ozone, or activated "Oxygen”, contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms, or (O2), which we normally breathe.
When we think of Ozone, we quite often think about the Ozone Layer that circle the planet above the earth’s atmosphere. This Ozone protects us from harmful ultra-violet radiation, which hit the earth’s surface.

Ozone occurs often within nature; thunderstorm create fresh clean smells, which is actually good Ozone being produced. Man-made Ozone is electronically produced using UV light or a Corona Discharge. The most effective way to create (03), is by high voltage Corona Discharge, creating an artificial lightning, which is the method for our (03) Ozone Air Sterilizer which is also known as good Ozone.

However, bad Ozone is formed when pollutants emitted by cars, power plants, industrial boilers, refineries, chemical plants, and other sources react chemically in the presence of sunlight which is harmful to the natural environment and human being. Ozone produce by (03) Ozone Air Sterilizer is good Ozone and safe for use.  Ozone is a natural and effective air purification method to kill bacteria, viruses and odour.

Ozone is one the most powerful and effective natural sterilizers and disinfectants know to man and its function is to destroy bacteria, viruses and odour. Ozone is important. Without Ozone to purify the natural environment no living thing can survive in the earth.

Brief history of Ozone
1840: Ozone was first discovered and named by German scientist. C.F. Schonbein
1857: The first Ozone generators were developed by Wermer Von Siemens
1886: The ability of Ozone to disinfect polluted water is recongnized in Europe
1906: Nice, French sets up the first global Ozone purification factory
1937: The US presented the first use of Ozonize commercial swimming pool
1940: The Amercian Indiana uses Ozone for water purification
1965: Scotland employs Ozone for colour control in surface water Switzerland uses Ozone to oxidize micro pollutants
1982: FDA GRAS (generally regarded as safe) declaration for Ozone to be used in bottled water
2001: Amercian FDA approves Ozone as an anti microbial agent for direct contact with food

How does Ozone destroy Bacteria, Viruses and Odour?

  1. Ozone travel like air, it can reach the bacteria, viruses and odour and kill it permanently.
  2. Ozone does not mask odour; Ozone destroys odour never to return.
  3. The life cycle of Ozone is: generation, oxidation, return to oxygen.
  4. Therefore, Ozone does its job and disappears without leaving any residue.

Is Ozone harmful to your health? Its is Important to use a safety (03) Ozone Air Sterilizer with a Safety Preset Timer control

No, in the quantities necessary to be effective, Ozone is safe to humans when used properly. Ozone can be an irritant, causing coughs, chest discomfort and irritation of the nose and throat, however, only applicable when high concentration of Ozone are used in an enclosed area for an extended period of time (more than 8 hours for 5 days). Should the Ozone molecule not find a contaminant in its environment, it will change its configuration to oxygen in 30 minutes in room temperature.

What is the right level of Ozone?

The right level is when all the generated Ozone is being used up accomplishing its job. Initially the machine’s output is set high to get rid of the problem odour / bacteria as quickly as possible. As the odour is being diminished less Ozone is required.
The Ozone level can then be turned down. If there is a strong “bleach” odour of Ozone in the room, then there is more Ozone present than is required to do the job. Simply turn the (03) Ozone Air Sterilizer off or its output timer control down.
